Upgrade Your Electric Water Heating System for a Rebate
Rebates are a great way to support customers in their efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption. If you are income-qualified, you can upgrade your electric water heating system to a more sustainable electric heat pump water heater and receive a $2,500 rebate on eligible models. Additionally, the property must be a year-round primary residence at least 10 years old and no larger than 3,500 square feet. The upgraded water heater must also be installed by a professional licensed contractor with a valid British Columbia license and a GST number. Consider Applying for the CleanBC Better Homes and Home Renovation Rebate Program
This program, provided through FortisBC, BC Hydro and the Province of British Columbia, offers rebates for select home upgrades that improve energy efficiency. You may qualify for up to $14,000 worth of rebates if your home is eligible and you have residential utility accounts with FortisBC, BC Hydro or municipal utilities. Qualifying products include heat pumps, water heaters, building envelope upgrades and more.
